Kevin's Awards

In every organization there is, or should be, a system to recognize the achievements of the employees who excel at their jobs.  BAE Systems has its system of recognition, the Chairman's Awards.  (See page four on the link).

For his efforts in Iraq, Kevin was nominated for a Chairman's Award.  Because of his work ethic, determination and hard work, Kevin received the Chairman's Bronze Award.  No shabby achievement there, and a proud moment for Kevin, Karen, Bobbi & Hunter that Kevin received such a prestigious award.

For his efforts in Afghanistan Kevin received a second nomination for a Chairman's AwardNot only was he nominated, he received a SECOND Bronze Chairman's Award.

Now Kevin has not one, but TWO awards for excellence in one year.  Makes all of us proud that he has done so exceptionally well.  It's no surprise to those of us who know him, because we all know how Kevin works.

I do not know how many people in BAE history have received TWO Chairman's Awards in one year, but I am fairly certain he is in pretty good company.

Here is a copy of the e-mail Kevin received for his work in Iraq:

2010 Chairman’s Awards – Bronze Award
Dear Kevin Shaffer,
Congratulations! Your work on the OCONUS MRAP Field Service Support Team was recently submitted for a 2010 BAE Systems Chairman's Award. A total of 266 nominations from throughout U.S. Combat Systems were submitted and I am pleased to tell you that your nomination was selected for a Bronze Award.
The Chairman's Award program recognizes employees whose ideas, actions, and behavior make BAE Systems a better, more competitive company and help us live each of our values: trust, innovative, and bold. This is a very prestigious program that includes recognition at the highest levels of the company, and it is a considerable achievement to receive such an award.
Team members will be invited to a recognition event in the near future. Again, my congratulations and sincere thanks for your outstanding efforts.
Yours sincerely,
Diane Foley
Vice President, Performance Excellence
U.S. Combat Systems

Kevin will receive his awards in a ceremony to be held in London later this year.

CONGRATULATIONS Kevin
from all of here.
