Update

Sorry for the delayed update, but the internet has been real bad since the attack. As you all have probably seen on TV, Bagram Airfield was attacked May 18, at 2:40 AM my time. 12 insurgents tried to enter the Base with 3 being sucessful. Thanks to our men and women in uniform the 12 attackers no longer exist. One civilian contractor (bus driver) was killed and 5 soliders were wounded. There is a guard tower right behind my living container and nothing between me and the outer wire except a 20 inch thick brick wall and Outer Perimater Road. I could here the guards calling out locations, 12 o'clock, 2 o'clock, 10 o'clock and returning fire with their 50 caliber, and M-16 machine guns. It was like watching a war movie with no picture. We came off of lockdown this morning. Thank you to those who sent emails, and called Karen concerned about my saftey. If this ever happens again just call Karen because I talk to her everyday and I can call her on my blackberry when the internet is down. They told us after I got back from R&R that the next several months were going to be bad as the Army wants to rid Bagram and Kandahar of the Taliban and they are not going without a fight. I herd today that Kandahar got hit last night with 14 rockets but no one was killed. Y'all take care and I'll see everyone at Christmas.
